Welcome to "Fishway"
A Private Home on Mount Desert Island
Centrally located just minutes to Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Bass Harbor and Acadia National Park.

(Information & Links About Activities on the Island are Provided After the Fishway Description)

Fishway is surrounded by a forest of pines and birch and serenaded by the babbling brook which connects Long Pond, the largest lake on the island, to Ripples Pond. Water continues to flow to Somes Pond past the Somesville "Arched Bridge" and finally empties into the Atlantic Ocean at the fjord.

The atmosphere at Fishway is relaxing and restful with windows everywhere bringing the outdoors inside. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people with two queen bedrooms, two full bathrooms and two living rooms - one each on the 1st and 2nd levels. There is an additional futon in the 1st floor living room and two twin sleeper chairs in the 2nd floor lounge. The 2nd floor includes a dining room, a very large kitchen, and the lounge with access to the deck.

Fishway Amenities include: Central A/C, large, south-facing deck, Satellite TV, washer & dryer, dishwasher, fully equipped kitchen (dishes, pots & pans, utensils) with skylights, gas cooktop, double ovens, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, VCR/DVD, CD, radio, telephone, wood burning fireplace, two gas woodstoves (Jotuls), outdoor gas grill & Lobster cooker, all linens and even an Old Town canoe to enjoy on Long Pond. The canoe launch to Long Pond is less than 30 steps away. Paddle to Rhum Island (in Long Pond) and enjoy a private picnic on this special little piece of the park.

Even though you are just minutes to the various towns and villages of Mount Desert Island and gorgeous Acadia National Park, you will feel "worlds away" at the very private Fishway. The perfect spot to enjoy the "Maine Way of Life" with family and friends.
